- Local gold and silver come from dealer quotes in the Rawalpindi/Islamabad sarafa (bullion) market, confirmed and published by PakGold, then moved live with the international spot price between confirmations.
- Daily high, low and change are computed from PakGold's own tick history, not copied from another site.
- Pakistan's gold price = international spot gold (USD/oz) converted at the open-market USD/PKR rate, plus a local sarafa premium. So when international gold or the dollar moves, the local rate moves the same minute.
- Other cities (Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan...) trade within a few hundred rupees of the Rawalpindi/Islamabad benchmark; city pages show the same live benchmark with local context.

## Units and purity (for conversions)

- 1 tola = 11.6638 grams; 10 grams = 0.857 tola; 1 troy ounce = 31.1035 grams = 2.667 tola.
- 24K = 99.9% gold, 22K = 91.6%, 21K = 87.5%, 18K = 75%.
- Zakat on gold = 2.5% of the value of gold held for a lunar year above the nisab (87.48 g / 7.5 tola of gold).
