Yuan Flat as Oil-Led Dollar Strength Caps Gains; Brent Crude Above $100

China's yuan traded flat against the US dollar amid renewed Middle East hostilities and Brent crude climbing above $100 a barrel. The dollar gained strength from higher US Treasury yields and increased market expectations for a US rate hike. Geopolitical tensions and US tariffs on Chinese goods also kept traders cautious, despite the yuan's 3.2% year-to-date appreciation. For Pakistani gold and currency markets, a stronger US dollar and rising oil prices could exert upward pressure on local gold rates and the USD/PKR exchange rate.
