Pakistan Hikes Petrol by Rs5.44, Diesel by Rs31.05; Daily Price Review Begins

The federal government has raised high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs31.05 to Rs354.35 per litre and petrol by Rs5.44 to Rs316.15 per litre, effective July 18-20. This marks the second hike in a week, driven by climbing international oil prices and geopolitical tensions. Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik announced a shift to daily price reviews to manage volatile global crude markets. These fuel price adjustments are likely to fuel inflation in Pakistan, potentially increasing demand for gold as a hedge and putting further pressure on the USD/PKR exchange rate.
