The Pakistani government has raised petrol by Rs5.44 to Rs316.15/litre and diesel by Rs31.05 to Rs354.35/litre, effective immediately for three days. This hike is attributed to elevated import premiums and global crude oil prices, exacerbated by renewed US-Iran tensions. Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik announced daily fuel price revisions going forward, delegating the responsibility to OGRA. These increased fuel costs are likely to fuel inflation, potentially impacting the Pakistani Rupee's stability and increasing demand for safe-haven assets like gold.
