Petroleum Dealers Back Daily Fuel Pricing, Seek Higher Margins Amid Reform Push

Pakistan’s petroleum dealers have endorsed the government's plan for daily fuel price adjustments, moving from weekly to a seven-day rolling average of international oil prices to enhance transparency. During a meeting with Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, the dealers also requested an increase in their margins to 8%, citing unrevised rates. The minister assured them their concerns would be addressed, with OGRA meetings scheduled. This move towards market-reflective fuel pricing and potential margin hikes could influence domestic inflation and USD/PKR stability, indirectly impacting local gold rates.
