PM Directs FBR to Boost Business Engagement, Improve Tax System for Economic Growth

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to strengthen its engagement with the business community in Karachi through monthly visits by senior officials, aiming for prompt resolution of tax-related issues. The directive emphasizes cooperation with businesses, encouraging tax-compliant companies, and providing facilities to boost production and exports.

The government's objective is to create an environment of ease of doing business, promote investment, and simplify the tax system to enhance confidence within the business community. PM Sharif stated that Pakistan's economy is on a path to stability, anticipating economic growth and increased business activity this year. The FBR also reported significant additional tax collections from the sugar, cement, and beverage industries through production monitoring systems.

These measures, aimed at improving economic stability and business confidence, could indirectly support the Pakistani Rupee against the US Dollar and influence local gold demand by fostering a more predictable economic environment.
