US Sanctions Turkish Bank for Aiding Iran Oil Revenue Movement
The United States Treasury Department on September 4 designated Istanbul-based Golden Global Yatirim Bankasi Anonim Sirketi and two subsidiaries under Iran sanctions authorities. These entities are accused of helping Iran move oil revenue and access the global financial system, intensifying Washington's campaign against Tehran. This move aims to further squeeze Iran's oil exports, potentially impacting global crude oil supply. For Pakistani traders, such geopolitical tensions and potential oil supply disruptions could support international gold prices as a safe haven and exert upward pressure on crude oil, indirectly affecting Pakistan's import bill and the PKR.
