The All Pakistan Petrol Pumps Owners Association (APPPOA) has called for an indefinite nationwide strike from Wednesday midnight, closing 15,000 pumps. This follows failed negotiations with the government over a new daily fuel pricing mechanism, which dealers deem "unworkable" and detrimental. Dealers also demand an increase in their commission, frozen for three years, and monthly price revisions. This disruption could heighten economic uncertainty and inflationary pressures in Pakistan, potentially influencing USD/PKR rates and local gold demand.
