Iran Oil Exports Collapse Amid Hormuz Standoff, Pushing Crude Towards $100
Six months into the US-Iran conflict, shipping disruptions at the Strait of Hormuz have severely impacted Iran's oil exports, with prices now nearing $100 per barrel. While other Persian Gulf producers have seen oil flows rebound to about two-thirds of pre-war levels via dark transits and STS transfers, the overall market remains tight. This sustained geopolitical tension and rising crude oil prices could exert inflationary pressure on Pakistan, potentially weakening the PKR and increasing local demand for gold as a hedge.
