OGDCL, Mari Energies Start Gas Production from Sindh Well
OGDCL and Mari Energies announced the successful commissioning of the Lundali-1 exploratory natural gas well in Sindh, which began production on September 6, 2026. The well is currently supplying 10 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) of gas to Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) at 2,000 psi. OGDCL holds a 30% working interest in the Sukhpur-II Block, with Mari Energies also holding 30%. This new indigenous gas supply is a positive development for Pakistan's energy security and could incrementally ease pressure on the country's import bill and the Pakistani Rupee.

او جی ڈی سی ایل اور ماری انرجیز نے اعلان کیا ہے کہ سندھ میں لنڈالی-1 گیس کے کنویں سے 6 ستمبر 2026 کو کامیابی سے گیس کی پیداوار شروع ہو گئی ہے۔ یہ کنواں اس وقت سوئی سدرن گیس کمپنی لمیٹڈ (ایس ایس جی سی) کو 2,000 پی ایس آئی پریشر پر روزانہ 10 ملین معیاری مکعب فٹ (ایم ایم ایس سی ایف ڈی) گیس فراہم کر رہا ہے۔ او جی ڈی سی ایل اور ماری انرجیز دونوں کا سکھپور-II بلاک میں 30 فیصد ورکنگ انٹرسٹ ہے۔ گیس کی یہ نئی مقامی فراہمی پاکستان کی توانائی کی حفاظت کے لیے ایک مثبت پیش رفت ہے اور یہ ملک کے درآمدی بل اور پاکستانی روپے پر دباؤ کو بتدریج کم کر سکتی ہے۔
