JI Threatens Long March Over Petroleum Levy, Demands Economic Reforms
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has threatened a long march to Islamabad if the federal government does not abolish the petroleum levy and other "unjust" taxes. Addressing a women's convention on the 25th day of JI's sit-in, he called for clear relief by September 10, citing government incompetence and lavish spending for high taxes. JI also proposed reducing the policy rate, increasing bank cash reserves, and auditing IPPs, alleging Rs1,300 billion FBR corruption. This escalating political pressure and demands for fiscal changes could heighten economic uncertainty, potentially impacting the Pakistani Rupee and local gold prices.

امیر جماعت اسلامی حافظ نعیم الرحمن نے وفاقی حکومت کو پٹرولیم لیوی اور دیگر "غیر منصفانہ" ٹیکسز ختم نہ کرنے کی صورت میں اسلام آباد کی طرف لانگ مارچ کا انتباہ دیا ہے۔ جماعت اسلامی کے دھرنے کے 25ویں روز خواتین کنونشن سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے 10 ستمبر تک عوام کو واضح ریلیف دینے کا مطالبہ کیا اور حکومتی نااہلی کو ٹیکسوں کی وجہ قرار دیا۔ جماعت اسلامی نے پالیسی ریٹ میں کمی، بینکوں کے کیش ریزرو میں اضافہ اور آئی پی پیز کے آڈٹ کی بھی تجویز دی، جبکہ ایف بی آر میں 1300 ارب روپے کی کرپشن کا الزام لگایا۔ یہ بڑھتا ہوا سیاسی دباؤ اور مالیاتی تبدیلیوں کے مطالبات معاشی غیر یقینی میں اضافہ کر سکتے ہیں، جس سے پاکستانی روپے اور مقامی سونے کی قیمتیں متاثر ہو سکتی ہیں۔
