Oil Nears $100 Amid Mideast Tensions; Indian Bonds Fall

Brent crude futures briefly approached $99 a barrel, their highest in seven weeks, as widening conflict in the Middle East fueled concerns over global energy supply disruptions. Indian government bonds fell for a third straight session, with the benchmark 6.94% 2036 bond yield reaching 6.8413%. India, importing nearly 90% of its crude, faces increased import bills and inflation risks from sustained high oil prices. For Pakistan, similar pressures on import costs, current account, and inflation could emerge, potentially impacting the PKR and local gold demand.
