Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev is set to visit Pakistan on July 20-21, accompanied by a delegation of business leaders. The visit aims to significantly enhance bilateral economic and trade relations between the two nations, culminating in the signing of a comprehensive five-year implementation plan for trade and economic cooperation.
The agenda includes strengthening regional connectivity, improving trade routes via road and rail, and fostering public-private partnerships. A Business-to-Business (B2B) Forum will also be organized, with over 100 Uzbek companies expected to explore investment, trade, and joint venture opportunities in Pakistan across key sectors like agriculture, pharmaceuticals, industry, and logistics.
This initiative could lead to increased foreign direct investment and improved trade balances for Pakistan. Enhanced trade and investment could strengthen Pakistan's economic outlook, potentially reducing pressure on the PKR against the USD in the long term.
