Nestle India Flags Inflation Amid Profit Surge
Nestle India saw a 36% surge in second-quarter profit, driven by strong demand, but highlighted increasing food and commodity inflation as a key challenge. The company noted India's retail inflation accelerated to 5.54% in September, nearing the central bank's tolerance band, partly due to the Middle East war and weak monsoon. Despite the profit jump, shares slumped 9% as earnings broadly met estimates.
