This initiative comes amidst a temporary de-escalation in the U.S.-Iran conflict, which saw President Trump call off recent bombing campaigns. Consequently, crude oil prices tumbled, with Brent futures falling by around 8% on Monday and another 1.6% on Tuesday to near $87 a barrel. A sustained de-escalation and stable oil flow could further temper crude prices, potentially easing Pakistan's import bill and influencing local inflation and gold demand.
