Impact on Gold Pakistan Hikes Petrol by Rs1.09, Diesel by Rs2.42; Daily Pricing Introduced
The government has increased petrol price by Rs1.09 to Rs336.15 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs2.42 to Rs393.04 per litre, effective July 31. Taxes remain substantial, at Rs110 per litre on petrol and Rs96 per litre on diesel. The Petroleum Division announced a shift to daily fuel price revisions by OGRA, replacing weekly adjustments, due to ongoing fluctuations in international market prices. This fuel price hike is likely to fuel domestic inflation, potentially increasing demand for gold as a hedge and putting further pressure on the Pakistani Rupee against the US Dollar.

حکومت نے پیٹرول کی قیمت میں 1.09 روپے اضافہ کر کے 336.15 روپے فی لیٹر اور ہائی اسپیڈ ڈیزل (HSD) کی قیمت میں 2.42 روپے اضافہ کر کے 393.04 روپے فی لیٹر کر دی ہے، جو 31 جولائی سے نافذ العمل ہے۔ پیٹرول پر 110 روپے اور ڈیزل پر 96 روپے فی لیٹر ٹیکس برقرار ہیں۔ وزارت پیٹرولیم نے بین الاقوامی مارکیٹ میں اتار چڑھاؤ کے پیش نظر اوگرا کے ذریعے ایندھن کی یومیہ قیمتوں کے نئے نظام کا اعلان کیا ہے، جس سے ہفتہ وار نظرثانی کا عمل ختم ہو گیا ہے۔ ایندھن کی قیمتوں میں یہ اضافہ ملکی مہنگائی کو مزید بڑھا سکتا ہے، جس سے سونے کی ہیج کے طور پر مانگ میں اضافہ اور امریکی ڈالر کے مقابلے میں پاکستانی روپے پر مزید دباؤ پڑ سکتا ہے۔
