Indian Rupee Hits One-Month High on Weaker Dollar, Lower Oil
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.5% to 94.92 per U.S. dollar, its highest since July 1, as Brent crude tumbled over 5% and the dollar weakened. Traders were surprised by the break past 95, indicating strong underlying support for the currency. This comes ahead of the Reserve Bank of India's policy decision, where rates are expected to remain unchanged. A weaker dollar and falling oil prices could support international gold prices and potentially ease pressure on the Pakistani Rupee.
