Angola Confirms New Offshore Oil & Gas Reserves, Boosting Global Supply Outlook
Angola's state oil firm Sonangol and its partner ANPG successfully completed drilling and testing operations at the Katambi-2 appraisal well in Block 24, Benguela Basin. The well confirmed good quality reservoirs for both oil and gas, with metrics higher than previous findings. This discovery adds to global crude oil and gas supply potential, coming at a time when energy security remains a key focus. Sustained increases in global oil supply could help moderate crude prices, potentially easing Pakistan's import bill and supporting the Rupee against the Dollar.
