SBP Cautions Sandbox Success Doesn't Guarantee Regulatory Approval
The SBP announced that participants in its first regulatory sandbox cohort, launched in August 2025 to foster innovation in digital financial services, must still obtain formal authorization before commercially launching their products. The sandbox focused on inward remittances, open banking, and remote merchant onboarding, with four out of six shortlisted participants successfully demonstrating their solutions. Findings from this cohort will inform future regulatory frameworks. This procedural update on financial innovation has no direct immediate impact on gold or currency rates in Pakistan.

اسٹیٹ بینک نے اعلان کیا کہ اس کے پہلے ریگولیٹری سینڈ باکس کوہورٹ کے شرکاء، جو اگست 2025 میں ڈیجیٹل مالیاتی خدمات میں جدت کو فروغ دینے کے لیے شروع کیا گیا تھا، کو اپنی مصنوعات کو تجارتی طور پر لانچ کرنے سے پہلے باقاعدہ اجازت حاصل کرنی ہوگی۔ سینڈ باکس نے اندرون ملک ترسیلات زر، اوپن بینکنگ، اور ریموٹ مرچنٹ آن بورڈنگ پر توجہ مرکزی، جس میں چھ میں سے چار شارٹ لسٹ کیے گئے شرکاء نے کامیابی سے اپنے حل کا مظاہرہ کیا۔ اس کوہورٹ سے حاصل ہونے والے نتائج مستقبل کے ریگولیٹری فریم ورک کی بنیاد بنیں گے۔ مالیاتی جدت پر اس طریقہ کار کی تازہ کاری کا پاکستان میں سونے یا کرنسی کی شرح پر کوئی براہ راست فوری اثر نہیں پڑے گا۔
