Mian Zahid Urges Federal Budget to Cover Electricity Capacity Charges
Mian Zahid Hussain, President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum, has urged the Federal Government to pay approximately Rs. 1,700 billion in electricity capacity charges from the federal budget by 2025-26, rather than through consumer bills. This move aims to provide industries with electricity at reasonable prices and promote economic survival through a competitive energy market and DISCO privatization. پاکستان بزنس مین اینڈ انٹلیکچوئلز فورم کے صدر میاں زاہد حسین نے وفاقی حکومت سے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ 2025-26 تک بجلی کے تقریباً 1700 ارب روپے کے کیپیسٹی چارجز بجلی کے بلوں کے بجائے وفاقی بجٹ سے ادا کیے جائیں۔ اس اقدام کا مقصد صنعتوں کو مناسب قیمت پر بجلی فراہم کرنا اور مسابقتی توانائی مارکیٹ کے ذریعے اقتصادی بقا کو فروغ دینا ہے۔ اگر یہ تجویز منظور ہوتی ہے تو اس سے حکومتی مالیات پر نمایاں اثر پڑ سکتا ہے اور مالیاتی مضمرات کی وجہ سے USD/PKR کی شرح متاثر ہو سکتی ہے۔
