Govt Raises Petrol Price by Rs6.88, HSD by Rs5.62 Per Litre
The federal government has raised petrol by Rs6.88 to Rs391.22 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs5.62 to Rs421.45 per litre, effective until September 17, 2026. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) attributed the hike to elevated international crude oil and petroleum product prices amid global uncertainty. This increase will add to the cost burden for consumers and businesses, potentially contributing to inflationary pressures within the Pakistani economy.

وفاقی حکومت نے پیٹرول کی قیمت میں 6.88 روپے کا اضافہ کرکے اسے 391.22 روپے فی لیٹر اور ہائی سپیڈ ڈیزل (HSD) کی قیمت میں 5.62 روپے کا اضافہ کرکے اسے 421.45 روپے فی لیٹر کر دیا ہے، یہ قیمتیں 17 ستمبر 2026 تک نافذ العمل رہیں گی۔ آئل اینڈ گیس ریگولیٹری اتھارٹی (اوگرا) نے اس اضافے کی وجہ عالمی منڈی میں خام تیل اور پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کی بلند قیمتوں کو قرار دیا ہے۔ یہ اضافہ صارفین اور کاروباری اداروں پر لاگت کا بوجھ بڑھائے گا، جس سے پاکستانی معیشت میں مہنگائی کا دباؤ بڑھ سکتا ہے۔
