LCCI Chief: Pakistan Exports Stuck at $30bn, Urges Cost Reduction
Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol stated Pakistan's exports remain stuck around the USD30 billion mark, significantly lagging regional peers like Vietnam's USD500 billion. He emphasized the critical need to reduce the high power tariff and overall cost of doing business to enhance product competitiveness internationally. While the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) explores new sectors, a business-friendly regulatory framework and simplified procedures are crucial for export expansion. Persistent export stagnation could exert long-term pressure on Pakistan's current account and the Rupee's stability.

لاہور چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری (ایل سی سی آئی) کے صدر فہیم الرحمان سیگل نے بتایا کہ پاکستان کی برآمدات تقریباً 30 ارب ڈالر پر رکی ہوئی ہیں، جو ویتنام جیسی علاقائی ممالک کی 500 ارب ڈالر کی برآمدات سے بہت پیچھے ہیں۔ انہوں نے بین الاقوامی منڈیوں میں مصنوعات کی مسابقت بڑھانے کے لیے بجلی کے زیادہ نرخوں اور کاروباری لاگت کو کم کرنے کی فوری ضرورت پر زور دیا۔ اگرچہ اسپیشل انویسٹمنٹ فیسیلیٹیشن کونسل (SIFC) نئے شعبوں پر کام کر رہا ہے، لیکن برآمدات میں اضافے کے لیے کاروباری دوست ریگولیٹری فریم ورک اور آسان طریقہ کار ناگزیر ہیں۔ برآمدات میں مسلسل جمود پاکستان کے کرنٹ اکاؤنٹ اور روپے کے استحکام پر طویل مدتی دباؤ ڈال سکتا ہے۔
