Kpler: Oil to Keep Grinding Higher Amid Deepening Diesel Crunch & M.East Losses
Oil prices have surged approximately $30 per barrel since early August, with Kpler estimating 8.5 million barrels per day of production lost due to conflict. Refinery runs have also been sharply cut, exacerbating a diesel crunch that is defying seasonal trends. This sustained upward pressure on crude oil could significantly worsen Pakistan's import bill and fuel domestic inflation, potentially increasing demand for gold as a hedge and putting further pressure on the PKR.
