Russia has begun commercial crude exports from Rosneft’s Vostok Oil project, with three ice-class tankers loading approximately 250,000 metric tons of crude from the Bukhta Sever terminal in September. Two tankers went to Murmansk for transfer, while a third headed to Asia via the Northern Sea Route, with a fourth awaiting loading. Industry sources anticipate average exports of about 150,000 metric tons from the new Arctic facility. Increased global oil supply from this project could exert downward pressure on crude prices, potentially easing Pakistan's import bill and indirectly supporting the PKR against the USD, while also influencing global inflation and gold's safe-haven appeal.
