طریقہ کار · How this rate is sourced
PakGold publishes the Rawalpindi–Islamabad Sarafa (bullion) benchmark — the same rawa and TT-Bar quotes local dealers trade on, not a rate copied from another website or published once a day. Every figure on the site carries the exact PKT time it was captured, so you can see for yourself how fresh it is rather than take our word for it.
What gets published
Local gold — rawa and TT-Bar per tola in PKR — and local silver, both per tola. Alongside these, international spot gold in USD/oz and the open-market USD/PKR rate are published separately so a reader can see the conversion inputs, not just the output. The rate history keeps every day's closing values, and a dated report is published after close on every trading day (see sitemap-news.xml) with that day's rupee move in the headline, generated directly from the day's own rate record.
Live rate vs the daily fixing
News reports usually quote the APGJSA (All Pakistan Gems & Jewellers Sarafa Association) figure, which is a once-a-day fixing — one number for the whole day. PakGold's figure is the live market rate, so on a moving day the two differ: the fixing is where the rate stood at that day's print, the live rate is the market as it is now. Both are legitimate; they answer different questions.
Why every city shows the same base rate
Pakistan trades gold on one national bullion benchmark. City pages carry that same benchmark plus what actually varies locally — making charge (banwai) and dealer spread — rather than inventing a different "city rate" that doesn't exist in the market.
