FPCCI Slams Govt's Economic Policies, FBR Actions Amid High Costs
The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has strongly condemned the government's economic policies, highlighting power tariffs at 12 cents (compared to 7 cents regionally) and a 22% policy rate as major hurdles. FPCCI leaders also criticized the Federal Board of Revenue's "coercive actions" against industrialists, warning that such measures, alongside multiple taxes and ongoing wars, are stifling economic growth and fueling inflation. This sustained pressure on businesses and high inflation could further weaken the PKR, potentially increasing local demand for gold as a hedge.

فیڈریشن آف پاکستان چیمبرز آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری (ایف پی سی سی آئی) نے حکومت کی معاشی پالیسیوں پر شدید تنقید کی ہے، جس میں بجلی کے نرخ 12 سینٹ (علاقائی اوسط 7 سینٹ کے مقابلے میں) اور 22 فیصد پالیسی ریٹ کو بڑی رکاوٹ قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ ایف پی سی سی آئی کے رہنماؤں نے صنعتکاروں کے خلاف ایف بی آر کے "جبری اقدامات" پر بھی تنقید کرتے ہوئے خبردار کیا کہ ایسے اقدامات، متعدد ٹیکسوں اور جاری جنگوں کے ساتھ، معاشی ترقی کو روک رہے ہیں اور مہنگائی کو بڑھا رہے ہیں۔ کاروبار پر یہ مسلسل دباؤ اور بلند افراط زر روپے کو مزید کمزور کر سکتا ہے، جس سے سونے کی مقامی مانگ میں اضافہ ہو سکتا ہے۔
