The All Pakistan Exporters Associations Forum has rejected criticism, stating that high production costs, weak competitiveness, and unstable policies are the real barriers to export growth, not product quality. They urged the government to address the cost and ease of doing business, ensure competitive energy tariffs, timely refunds, and stable long-term policies. Exporters also highlighted issues like delayed tax refunds, arbitrary FBR deductions, and losses from transport strikes. This ongoing pressure on the export sector, a key source of foreign exchange, could signal continued challenges for Pakistan's balance of payments, potentially exerting long-term pressure on the Pakistani Rupee.
