The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) and the Chainstore Association of Pakistan (CAP) have launched a joint initiative to boost textile exports by USD 3 billion within 12 months and USD 10 billion over the next few years. This effort aims to replace imported retail merchandise with locally made products and help Pakistani fashion brands expand internationally. The collaboration seeks to enhance value addition and industrial cooperation, moving Pakistan beyond manufacturing to owning global brands. Improved export performance and reduced import dependency could support Pakistan's current account and foreign exchange reserves, potentially strengthening the Pakistani Rupee in the long term.
