China's Exports Surge Past Forecasts, Imports Accelerate in September

Sunday, 18 October 2026 · 04:57 AM PKT · PakGold News Desk · 👁 6

China's exports jumped 36.3% year-on-year in September, far surpassing forecasts and August's 25.0% rise, driven by strong overseas demand. Imports also accelerated, growing 31.0% against an expected 24.5%, pushing the trade surplus to USD938.11 billion for the first nine months. This resilience, alongside rising factory-gate prices, suggests a robust global economic environment. Strong global economic data could temper safe-haven demand for gold, potentially influencing international bullion prices and the USD/PKR exchange rate.
