International crude oil prices surged to a two-month high last week, driven by escalating hostilities in the Middle East. This pushed Australia's nationwide gasoline prices to US$1.27 (AUS$1.82) per liter, their highest since March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum. Diesel prices also saw a significant jump across Australia.
