Govt Assures Winter Gas, Hints at Fuel Price Cuts Amid Energy Reforms
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik assured efforts to meet winter gas demand and hinted at further reductions in petrol and diesel prices, following a recent cut and lower international crude markets. A new arrangement will see oil refineries contribute Rs15 billion monthly to the petroleum levy, enabling a Rs14.71 per litre petrol price reduction for consumers. Efforts are also underway to introduce a similar system for LPG, which has seen prices soar due to supply disruptions. These measures aim to ease inflationary pressures and stabilize the energy sector, potentially strengthening the PKR against the USD and influencing local gold prices.

وزیر پٹرولیم علی پرویز ملک نے موسم سرما میں گیس کی طلب پوری کرنے کی یقین دہانی کرائی اور پیٹرول و ڈیزل کی قیمتوں میں مزید کمی کا اشارہ دیا، جس کی وجہ بین الاقوامی مارکیٹ میں کمی اور ایک نئے پیٹرولیم لیوی کا انتظام ہے۔ آئل ریفائنریاں ماہانہ 15 ارب روپے پیٹرولیم لیوی میں حصہ ڈالیں گی، جس سے صارفین کے لیے پیٹرول کی قیمت میں 14.71 روپے فی لیٹر کمی ممکن ہوگی۔ ایل پی جی کے لیے بھی ایسا ہی نظام متعارف کرانے کی کوششیں جاری ہیں۔ ان اقدامات سے مہنگائی کا دباؤ کم ہو سکتا ہے اور پاکستانی روپے کو استحکام مل سکتا ہے، جو مقامی سونے کی قیمتوں پر اثر انداز ہو سکتا ہے۔
