وزیراعظم شہباز شریف نے بجلی تقسیم کار کمپنیوں (ڈسکوز) کے بلنگ سسٹم کے جامع تکنیکی آڈٹ کا حکم دیا ہے، جس میں پاور سیکٹر اصلاحات کو حکومت کی اولین ترجیح قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ اہم ہدایات میں ملک بھر میں سمارٹ میٹرز کی تنصیب، بجلی چوری کا مکمل خاتمہ اور ریکوریز میں بہتری شامل ہے، جس پر ہر سطح پر سخت اقدامات نافذ کیے جائیں گے۔ حکومت کا مقصد تکنیکی اور تجارتی نقصانات کو کم کرنا ہے، جس میں IESCO، LESCO اور GEPCO جیسی ڈسکوز نے ریکوریز میں بہتری دکھائی ہے۔ کامیاب اصلاحات پاکستان کی مالی صحت کو مضبوط کر سکتی ہیں، جس سے درمیانی مدت میں روپے کی قدر مستحکم اور افراط زر کا دباؤ کم ہو سکتا ہے۔
