Govt Hikes Petrol by Rs1.09, Diesel by Rs2.42; New Prices Effective July 31
The Ministry of Energy announced an increase in petrol prices to Rs336.15 per litre, up from Rs335.06, and high-speed diesel to Rs393.04 per litre, from Rs390.62. These revised ex-depot prices, effective July 31, were set by OGRA under the government's petroleum pricing mechanism. The adjustments reflect ongoing factors in international oil markets. Such increases in domestic fuel costs typically fuel inflation, potentially influencing the USD/PKR exchange rate and local gold prices.
