Impact on Gold Rupee Gains Marginally Against Dollar; Greenback Weakens Globally
The Pakistani rupee edged up by Re0.01 to close at Rs277.70 against the US dollar on Monday, building on its previous close of Rs277.71. Internationally, the US dollar remained near a two-month low against major currencies as investors awaited crucial inflation data for insights into the Federal Reserve's rate path. The dollar index was largely unchanged at 99.6, marking its lowest level since early June, while oil prices saw minimal movement. A stable or strengthening rupee, coupled with a weaker international dollar, could potentially ease the cost of imported gold in Pakistan and support international bullion prices.
