Govt Hikes Diesel by Rs1.16, Petrol by Re0.45 Per Litre
The federal government has raised the price of High Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs1.16 to Rs383.95 per litre and Motor Spirit (petrol) by Re0.45 to Rs325.43 per litre, effective August 14. These adjustments, based on international oil markets, are part of the ongoing petroleum pricing mechanism. While routine, such fuel price hikes contribute to domestic inflation, potentially adding pressure on the Pakistani Rupee against the US Dollar.

وفاقی حکومت نے 14 اگست سے ہائی سپیڈ ڈیزل (HSD) کی قیمت میں 1.16 روپے کا اضافہ کرکے 383.95 روپے فی لیٹر اور موٹر سپیریٹ (پیٹرول) کی قیمت میں 0.45 روپے کا اضافہ کرکے 325.43 روپے فی لیٹر کر دیا ہے۔ یہ ایڈجسٹمنٹ بین الاقوامی تیل منڈیوں کی بنیاد پر جاری پیٹرولیم قیمتوں کے میکانزم کا حصہ ہے۔ اگرچہ یہ معمول کے اضافے ہیں، لیکن ایندھن کی قیمتوں میں یہ اضافہ ملکی مہنگائی میں اضافہ کر سکتا ہے، جس سے پاکستانی روپے پر امریکی ڈالر کے مقابلے میں دباؤ بڑھنے کا امکان ہے۔
