Govt Raises Petrol, Diesel Prices; Shifts to Daily Adjustments
The government has raised petrol prices by Rs0.45 per litre to Rs325.43 and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs1.16 per litre to Rs383.95, effective August 14. This adjustment comes as the Petroleum Minister announced a shift to daily fuel price revisions, citing renewed US-Iran hostilities and international market fluctuations. The decision grants Ogra the responsibility for daily pricing based on global trends. This move aims to align domestic prices more closely with global trends, potentially influencing Pakistan's inflation outlook and the broader economic environment for the PKR.

حکومت نے پیٹرول کی قیمت میں 0.45 روپے فی لیٹر کا اضافہ کرکے اسے 325.43 روپے کر دیا ہے، جبکہ ہائی سپیڈ ڈیزل (HSD) 1.16 روپے فی لیٹر مہنگا ہوکر 383.95 روپے پر پہنچ گیا ہے، جو 14 اگست سے نافذ العمل ہوگا۔ وزیر پیٹرولیم نے ایران اور امریکہ کے درمیان کشیدگی اور بین الاقوامی منڈی میں اتار چڑھاؤ کے پیش نظر اب روزانہ کی بنیاد پر ایندھن کی قیمتوں میں نظرثانی کا اعلان کیا ہے۔ اوگرا کو عالمی رجحانات کی بنیاد پر روزانہ قیمتیں طے کرنے کی ذمہ داری سونپی گئی ہے۔ یہ اقدام عالمی رجحانات کے ساتھ ملکی قیمتوں کو ہم آہنگ کرنے کا مقصد رکھتا ہے، جو پاکستان میں مہنگائی اور روپے کی قدر پر اثر انداز ہو سکتا ہے۔
