LCCI Urges Dialogue to End Transporters' Strike, Warns of Economic Crisis
LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol has urged the federal government to resolve the six-day nationwide transporters' strike through meaningful dialogue, warning of severe disruption to supply chains, exports, and industrial output. The strike has stranded export containers worth an estimated USD 500 million, risking missed deadlines and damaging Pakistan's international credibility. Prolonged disruption could also fuel inflation by affecting essential goods' availability and prices, adding to existing economic pressures. This significant economic disruption could put further pressure on the Pakistani Rupee and potentially increase demand for safe-haven assets like gold in the local market.

لاہور چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری (ایل سی سی آئی) کے صدر فہیم الرحمان سیگل نے حکومت سے 6 روز سے جاری ٹرانسپورٹرز کی ملک گیر ہڑتال کو بامعنی مذاکرات کے ذریعے حل کرنے کا مطالبہ کیا ہے۔ انہوں نے خبردار کیا کہ یہ ہڑتال سپلائی چین، برآمدات اور صنعتی پیداوار کو شدید متاثر کر رہی ہے، جس سے 500 ملین ڈالر مالیت کے برآمدی کنٹینرز پھنسے ہوئے ہیں اور پاکستان کی ساکھ کو نقصان پہنچنے کا خدشہ ہے۔ طویل تعطل سے ضروری اشیاء کی دستیابی اور قیمتوں پر اثر پڑنے سے مہنگائی میں مزید اضافہ ہو سکتا ہے۔ یہ اہم معاشی تعطل پاکستانی روپے پر مزید دباؤ ڈال سکتا ہے اور مقامی مارکیٹ میں سونے جیسے محفوظ اثاثوں کی طلب میں اضافہ کر سکتا ہے۔
