Hormuz Crossings Remain Low Amid US-Iran Stalemate, Oil Climbs
Six commodity ships transited the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, significantly below the 10-day average of 11, amid a stalemate in US and Iranian peace negotiations. This reduced activity, particularly the absence of very large crude carriers, signals heightened supply risks. Consequently, oil prices have climbed as hopes for US-Iran peace fade. This geopolitical tension and rising crude oil prices could increase global inflation concerns and boost safe-haven demand for gold, while also pressuring the PKR against the USD.
