Indian Rupee Under Pressure; Weak Dollar, RBI Cushion Fall
The Indian rupee is expected to remain under pressure from rising crude oil prices and persistent dollar demand for hedging. However, the Reserve Bank of India's intervention and a broadly weaker US dollar are anticipated to cushion the local currency. The dollar is struggling after US Treasury bond buyback moves, while Brent crude hovers near $94 a barrel, up nearly 12% in two weeks due to US-Israeli war uncertainty. This global dollar weakness and high oil prices could influence gold prices and the USD/PKR exchange rate in Pakistan.
