Govt Hikes Petrol by Rs3.81, Diesel by Rs3.59; Daily Pricing Begins
The government raised petrol and high-speed diesel prices, citing renewed hostilities in the Persian Gulf and international market fluctuations. Petrol will now retail at Rs341.59 per litre and HSD at Rs368.29 per litre, with Rs114/litre and Rs100/litre in taxes respectively. Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik announced a new daily pricing mechanism for fuel, moving away from weekly revisions. These hikes are expected to fuel inflationary pressures across the economy, potentially impacting the Pakistani Rupee and increasing demand for gold as a hedge.

حکومت نے خلیج فارس میں نئی کشیدگی اور بین الاقوامی مارکیٹ میں اتار چڑھاؤ کے باعث پیٹرول اور ہائی سپیڈ ڈیزل کی قیمتوں میں اضافہ کیا ہے۔ پیٹرول اب 341.59 روپے فی لیٹر اور HSD 368.29 روپے فی لیٹر پر فروخت ہوگا، جس میں بالترتیب 114 روپے اور 100 روپے فی لیٹر ٹیکس شامل ہیں۔ وزیر پیٹرولیم علی پرویز ملک نے ایندھن کی قیمتوں کے لیے ایک نیا یومیہ نظام متعارف کرانے کا اعلان کیا ہے، جو ہفتہ وار نظرثانی سے ہٹ کر ہے۔ ان اضافوں سے معیشت میں مہنگائی کا دباؤ بڑھنے کا امکان ہے، جو پاکستانی روپے کو متاثر کر سکتا ہے اور سونے کی طلب میں اضافے کا باعث بن سکتا ہے۔
