JI Warns of Nationwide Strike Over Petroleum Levy, Demands Withdrawal

لاہور، پشاور اور کراچی میں جماعت اسلامی کے دھرنے آٹھویں روز میں داخل ہو گئے ہیں، جبکہ 13 ربیع الاول کو ملک گیر شٹر ڈاؤن ہڑتال کا اعلان کیا گیا ہے۔ حافظ نعیم الرحمان نے حکومت کو پیٹرول پر 80 روپے لیوی سمیت 130 روپے فی لیٹر ٹیکس لگانے پر تنقید کا نشانہ بنایا اور الزام لگایا کہ حکمران طبقہ اشرافیہ کے مفادات کا تحفظ کر رہا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ عوامی دباؤ کے باعث ڈیزل کی قیمت میں 32 روپے فی لیٹر کمی ہوئی ہے لیکن مکمل لیوی ختم کرنے کا مطالبہ کیا۔ ملک گیر ہڑتال سے بڑھتی ہوئی سیاسی عدم استحکام اور ممکنہ معاشی خلل پاکستانی روپے پر دباؤ ڈال سکتا ہے۔
