Impact on Gold Gold Jewellery Sector Demands Urgent Reduction in Export Norms
The gold jewellery sector has called on the Ministry of Commerce to swiftly implement a decision to reduce Value Addition Norms under SRO 760, a move unanimously approved by stakeholders in March 2026. Despite recommendations from the National Assembly Standing Committee on Commerce, the notification remains pending, causing significant adverse effects on export performance. The sector highlights a six-month delay, expressing concern over the prolonged approval process. Continued delays could hinder the sector's ability to compete internationally and potentially impact demand for gold within Pakistan's export-oriented jewellery manufacturing.

سونے کے زیورات کے شعبے نے وزارت تجارت سے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ SRO 760 کے تحت ویلیو ایڈیشن نارمز میں کمی کے فیصلے کا فوری نوٹیفکیشن جاری کیا جائے۔ یہ فیصلہ مارچ 2026 میں تمام اسٹیک ہولڈرز کی جانب سے متفقہ طور پر منظور کیا گیا تھا اور قومی اسمبلی کی قائمہ کمیٹی برائے تجارت نے بھی اس کی سفارش کی تھی۔ چھ ماہ کی تاخیر سے برآمدی کارکردگی بری طرح متاثر ہو رہی ہے، جس سے شعبے کی بین الاقوامی مسابقت متاثر ہو سکتی ہے۔ اس تاخیر سے پاکستان میں برآمدی زیورات کی تیاری کے لیے سونے کی طلب پر ممکنہ طور پر اثر پڑ سکتا ہے۔
