SPI-based weekly inflation rises 0.05% for week ended Aug 27
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ending August 27 rose by 0.05% WoW, primarily due to increases in LPG (3.46%), diesel (2.44%), electricity (2.06%), and petrol (1.71%). On a Year-on-Year basis, SPI inflation stood at 9.04%. While overall inflation saw a slight rise, lower income groups experienced reductions, with only the highest income bracket seeing an increase.
