Oil Prices Soar Past $100 Amid Middle East Tensions, First Time in 4 Months

Escalating attacks in the Red Sea and Strait of Hormuz, including Houthis seizing Mocha and US-Iran tanker clashes, fuel fears of prolonged supply disruptions, while US national average diesel price also surpassed $6 a gallon. This surge in international oil prices could increase Pakistan's import bill, potentially weakening the PKR against the USD and adding inflationary pressure, which may support local gold prices.
