ECB: Eurozone Gas Price Hikes Hit Consumers Faster
The European Central Bank (ECB) stated in its Economic Bulletin that higher wholesale natural gas prices are translating into retail and electricity inflation in the Eurozone faster than in the past, often within one to three months. Despite this, pressure on electricity prices in 2026 has been lower compared to 2022, partly due to increased renewable energy generation.
