Australia's Central Bank Hikes Rates to 15-Year High on Inflation, Oil Risks
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) increased its cash rate by 25 basis points to 4.60%, marking its fourth hike this year, as inflation remains too high and upside risks materialize. The decision was driven by stronger-than-expected inflation and activity data, coupled with a nearly 20% surge in Brent crude prices since August due to global oil supply disruptions.
