Yuan Eyes 7th Quarterly Gain as Exporters Sell Dollars Pre-Holiday
China's yuan strengthened against the dollar, poised for its seventh consecutive quarterly gain, driven by exporters converting dollar holdings ahead of the National Day holiday and robust factory activity data. The currency is up 0.2% this month and 4.3% this year, underpinned by strong exports and broad dollar weakness. The People's Bank of China set the midpoint rate at its strongest since February 2023. Continued dollar weakness, as indicated by the yuan's performance, could offer support to international gold prices and potentially influence the USD/PKR exchange rate.
