Oil Jumps 4% Amid Middle East Tensions, China Export Suspension
Crude oil prices jumped over 4% on Thursday, with Brent settling at $102.31 and WTI at $92.87, following reports of increased US military presence in the Middle East and China's suspension of oil product exports. These developments, coupled with ongoing refined product shortages from Russia and refinery damage, intensified global fuel supply concerns. The geopolitical escalation, particularly regarding Iran, and tightening supply could push global inflation higher, potentially increasing safe-haven demand for gold and putting upward pressure on Pakistan's import bill and USD/PKR exchange rate.
