APTMA Eyes $3bn Export Boost, Urges Competitive Environment

Friday, 02 October 2026 · 08:30 AM PKT · PakGold News Desk · 👁 13

The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) chairman, Asad Shafi, stated the industry could achieve an additional USD3 billion in exports this year and USD10 billion over the next two to three years. This growth is contingent on competitive energy costs, financing at 7%, adequate liquidity, and eased regulatory restrictions. APTMA aims to expand value-added exports and build Pakistani brands internationally, leveraging the complete domestic textile value chain. A stronger export outlook could support the Pakistani Rupee, potentially influencing local gold prices.
