UN Chief Praises Pakistan's Role in US-Iran Talks Amid Complex Global Tensions

UN Secretary-General Guterres praised Pakistan's role in facilitating dialogue between the US and Iran, highlighting Islamabad's credibility in a complex global environment. Discussions with Deputy Prime Minister Dar covered regional and global peace, including challenges involving Iran, the US, Houthis, and the critical Bab el-Mandeb shipping lane. Dar also emphasized the need for implementing UN resolutions, citing the Kashmir dispute. Persistent geopolitical tensions, particularly concerning the Bab el-Mandeb, could maintain volatility in crude oil prices, potentially influencing global inflation and safe-haven demand for gold, while de-escalation efforts might temper these impacts.
